No-Touch (TRANS-PRK) eye laser (and also LASEK) is suitable for those who do not want to have the cornea cut, have thin corneas, or have large refractive errors that are not suitable for our other treatments. No-Touch requires a slightly longer recovery time compared to FS-LASIK and SMILE, but a shorter recovery time compared to LASEK. The final result is equally excellent regardless of the method.
No-Touch (TRANS-PRK) (also referred to by some providers as "no cut") is an advanced eye laser treatment that reshapes the surface of the cornea to correct refractive errors. During the procedure, the outermost layer of the cornea, called the epithelium, is removed using a laser. Then, the middle layer of the cornea, the stroma, is sculpted by the laser, which precisely removes an exact amount of tissue corresponding to your refractive error.
Recovery and Aftercare After No-Touch (TRANS-PRK)
In the first few days following the procedure, light sensitivity may occur, and the eyes may feel stinging and watery. To manage discomfort, pain relief tablets and eye drops are provided to take home.
A short break from work or school, typically 4 to 5 days, is recommended after the surgery, as visual sharpness may initially be blurry. However, vision improves gradually with each passing day. The first follow-up appointment typically takes place about 14 days after the procedure. Within approximately 3 months, visual acuity usually stabilizes completely.
